The Swiss Science Center offers a fun day out for all the family, less than an hour’s drive from the business and cultural hub of Zurich.
Amazingly, it’s Switzerland’s only science center (although there are plenty of other science-related attractions in the country), which means that its invitation to touch, play and experiment is even more appealing to residents and visitors alike.
Visitors can experience the power science through exhibits such as the rodeo gyroscope, the tesla coil and the Van-de-Graff Generator, or get hands on at creating their own experiments in the electronics lab.
Also well worth a look is the Mathemagics exhibition, a section boasting some of the most creative and interest maths demonstrations around.
The center is open six days a week and runs two main science shows daily, the electricity show and the gas show. Also on offer are several side shows conducted by staff dealing with topics such as greenhouse gases and superconductivity. Under 5′s can be entertained in the Science House play area.
